FIFA 19: 6 of the Best Teams to Pick as Your First Career Mode Club

Football fans around the world are right in the high season of FIFA 19. It's just been released, in case you hadn't noticed.

With the latest version seeing the return of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League among a host of other new additions, fans have been very excited to play the latest game.

One of the popular modes on the game is Career Mode, allowing fans to take control of a team as they look to guide them to domestic and European glory. Yet while it's always nice to play with the so-called bigger teams on the game, due to their already amazing squads and limitless funds, most see the fun coming from building a successful team over seasons.

Here are six of the best teams to do just that on FIFA 19.

1. Ajax

A side known for nurturing young talent into potential superstars, Ajax are a side worth experiencing in Career Mode, with the prospect of their side a few seasons down the line an intriguing one.

Beginning with the Eredivise's biggest transfer budget of £23m, players will have to be shrewd with initial signings, scouting out those with potential rather than established performers to compliment those already at the club.

Already boasting the likes of Matthijs De Ligt, Frenkie De Jong, Donny van der Beek, David Neres, Hakim Ziyech and Kasper Dolberg, the Dutch side could be a real force on the game.

2. Bayer Leverkusen

The Bundesliga might not be a one-horse race led by Bayern Munich any more, with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Schalke close the gap, but one other side worth utilising from Germany is Bayer Leverkusen.

Starting with a very handy £40m transfer budget - the fourth biggest in the division - Die Werkself's side already contains promising youth talents in both parts of the pitch, with Kai Havertz, Leon Bailey and Julian Brandt complemented defensively by Lukas Hradecky, Jonathan Tah and Wendell - with all those having the potential for growth.

Being patient is key, although that will soon be rewarded in a few seasons time with an extremely talented squad, and that's without factoring in the signings you could make.

3. Inter

Certainly a side on the up in recent time, Inter are arguably the best bet should you wish to select a team in Serie A to challenge Juventus.

While their starting budget of £39.5m - the fifth biggest in the division - isn't exactly the biggest, Inter's new additions over the summer, including FIFA favourite Radja Nainggolan, Stefan de Vrij, Sime Vrsaljko and Keita Balde, the Italian side are in a good position before a transfer is even made.

Add in players already at San Siro such as as Milan Skriniar, Samir Handanovic, Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi, then the Nerazzurri are worth considering for a potential Career Mode.

4. Olympique Lyonnais

Paris Saint-Germain's dominance of Ligue 1 has been well documented, so what better way to try and end that than building a side that can seriously challenge the Parisian club?

While AS Monaco's brief moment in the sun came and went, Olympique Lyonnais look to be a side building to be those challengers, and provided you keep hold of their promising players, they are capable of becoming France's top side once more, on your Career Mode at least.

A budget of £32m - the third biggest in the division - means that thrifty transfers are key initially, although the squad already contains Nabil Fekir and Memphis Depay, while Maxwel Cornet, Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele represent potential stars of the future in a side built for the long-term in mind.

5. Wolverhampton Wanderers

It's not often that a newly promoted side would be considered as a must for a Premier League Career Mode, however Wolves aren't like most sides returning to England's top flight.

The Midlands club has undergone a rapid transformation in recent seasons due to heavy investment, thanks to owners Fosun International, and now have a squad that doesn't look out of place in the Premier League, and that's without spending their £56m starting budget, the eighth biggest in the league.

A midfield crux of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho is backed by experienced goalkeeper Rui Patricio, and with exciting youngsters such as Leander Dendoncker and Diogo Jota, the prospect of taking on the league's more established sides is certainly an exciting one.

6. Valencia

Away from La Liga's top three sides, a Career Mode with Valencia offers players the chance to take the club back to former glories.

Having invested heavily in the summer, signing Michy Batshuayi, Goncalo Guedes and Kevin Gameiro to name but a few, Los Che's ambition certainly cannot be faulted as they look to challenge Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for the Spanish league title.

A starting budget of £58m - the fourth biggest in the division - also means that the opportunity is there to further strengthen what appears to be a very talented and dangerous Valencia side in this year's game.
